GREENBAY - Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy was taking Friday to wrap up his work on the 2011 season - a lot earlier than he wanted to.

"Very frustrating," admitted McCarthy on Newsradio 620 WTMJs "Wisconsins Morning News."

"It definitely is disappointing."

Coach McCarthy would rather be on the practice field today, getting his players ready for the NFC championship game.

The 37-20 loss to the New York Giants in the NFC Divisional Playoff last Sunday stopped that from happening.

Still, he told 620WTMJ that his team was prepared for that game.

"I have no regrets in our preparation. It was obviously a very challenging week for us, as an organization, personally," said McCarthy, referencing the death of Michael Philbin, son of offensive coordinator Joe Philbin.

"Professionally, as r as our work in the classroom, in the gymnasium, in the walkthroughs, and even more so on the practice field, I felt strongly that our team was ready to play.

Has McCarthy even looked at the films of the debacle against New York?

"Frankly, I havent watched the tape yet. Ive been in evaluation meetings all week, which will continue today."

McCarthy is holding exit interviews with this players.

Then, he will have an eight-hour flight to Hawaii, where hell be coaching the Pro Bowl.

"Seeing the zero on the temperature this morning encouraged me to get out of here as soon as possible," McCarthy joked.

If there is one thing I cant stand is not taking responsibility. It is one thing to get outplayed because your team does not match up well, but it is another to continue the lies of saying the team was prepared. Be a man and admit you iled.
